What it is

Occupational therapy helps children develop the physical, sensory and coordination skills they use every day — from holding a pencil and using cutlery to managing sensory experiences and staying focused. At KOVE, our occupational therapists use play-based, individualised sessions to build these skills, and share practical strategies for home and school.

  • Over- or under-sensitivity to sounds, textures, light or movement

Frequently asked questions

What does an occupational therapist actually do?

OTs help children build the skills for everyday activities — movement, coordination, sensory regulation and independence — through play.

Is OT only for physical difficulties?

No. OT also supports sensory processing, attention and self-regulation, which affect learning and behaviour too.

How are sessions structured?

Play-based and tailored to your child, often using movement, sensory and hands-on activities.

Will I get strategies for home?

Yes — simple, practical strategies to use at home and at school.
